He was a Hollywood stuntman, bodybuilder, gym owner, and when he got older in life in the 1950's, started the "Bonomo Turkish Taffy" candy company. A man of many accomplishments. He was also highly intelligent, and a fine businessman. He is shown on the roof of his Hollywood gym lifting a buddy in the photograph below during the 1920's. The photograph at right was his most famous image. Many a boy saw this image on the back cover of his comic book and prayed he would grow up to look like "Big Joe".
